It took a long time and a lot of convincing to finally get me to watch Puella Magi Madoka Magica, but man, when I finally did, I absolutely loved it. I had some doubts at first, but by the third episode, I was hooked and it just kept getting better and better right up to the very end. I'm not generally the biggest anime fan in the world, so consider that when I say how much I loved this show.

So, naturally, I had to draw it. And something just seemed to click with this one, because I am really happy with how this turned out. I think it may even be a personal best, if I may say so myself. The biggest challenge was sticking to my 'style' when all my reference was anime. The labyrinth effect took some toying with, too, but I think that may be what really sells it. All in all, I just hope I did the brilliant show justice.

The labyrinth effect is DEFINITELY what sells it. Love how you warped the textures around - very true to the show. Glad to hear you enjoyed Madoka so much - I always feel guilty when I push a recommendation and the person doesn't wind up liking it. :D

Thank you, for the comment and for recommending the show. I know what you mean about making recommendations like that, but you totally nailed it on this one. In fact, next chance I get, I had an idea for a Madoka related commission I wanted to hire you for.

Oh, now you've got me curious. You've always got great commish requests. :)

Heh, now the trick is to actually see you guys again now that you don't have any cons in Ohio anymore. lol

My idea was actually along the lines of the last one you did for me with Motherboard and Telepath as current and classic Atom Eve, this time with Donna and Raina as Madoka and Homura. I don't know why I've developed a thing for seeing your characters in cosplay, but I like to think they work on multiple levels.

Hey, it's fun as heck for us, too. Everybody wins. :D We'll have to find a way to so something in Ohio again - we've got a lot of friends there, it's just a shame all the cons we used to do there turned to crap.

*sigh* Tell me about it. As a con goer and as someone looking to start doing tables, it's kinda frustrating. Really hoping this Cincinnati Con v. Expo thing works out and doesn't explode in everyone's faces. Another anime con would be nice, too.

With C2E2 falling through for me this year, maybe I'll pick a Michigan show for this year's destination con.

I don't know that we have any "Destination" cons in Michigan. Youmacon is pretty great as far as Anime shows go, but our "big" comic cons are all pretty lackluster. Detroit Fanfare has potential, but it's still just getting started, really. It has yet to distinguish itself in a meaningful way. We support it because there's good people running it and we want to see it get great, but we'll see.

Youmacon had crossed my mind, but I see what you're saying. Maybe I'll see if any of my friends are doing Heroes Con this year.
