Origin II sketch cover

Description

Sketch cover I did for a charity auction a local comic shop is having on Free Comic Book Day to benefit the CBLDF.

I'd heard a lot of horror stories from people about how difficult some of these blank sketch covers can be to work with, but up until now, I'd always had fairly good luck with them. But boy howdy did that change with this one! This cover soaked up my markers like a sponge and I spent most of my time wondering if I was running out of ink. Blending seemed difficult at the time, too, but it all somehow evened out and the final product turned out fairly well I think. Just another example in my theory that Copic markers are at least slightly magical.

Oh, and as far as the subject, what can I say? I'm not the biggest Wolverine fan (don't dislike him, but I tend to think he's over-used and has been "Flanderized" quite a bit.) so when I got a Wolverine cover to do, I struggled a bit to think of what to do with it. Finally, looking at the title made me think of the movie and then this came to mind.
